Role: Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

Rates: £100 - £125 per hour (PAYE)

Shifts: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Scunthorpe General Hospital

Role Description

As a locum consultant, you will apply your expertise in respiratory and general medicine to support patient care across the hospital, especially for complex cases involving multiple conditions. You will support the acute respiratory medicine team, provide diagnostic and treatment expertise, and serve as a clinical and educational resource for junior staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Support patients and communicate diagnoses and treatment options effectively
• Coordinate and prescribe treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and communicate with the multidisciplinary team
• Lead or participate in multidisciplinary team activities
• Assess patient needs, delegate tasks, and document care activities
• Engage in research and teaching activities to advance clinical practice

Qualifications and Certifications

Essential:

• GMC registered Doctor (not necessarily on the Specialist Register)
• Relevant consultant-level experience or references supporting transition to Consultant
• Evidence of Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
• Pass an enhanced DBS check
