Job description

The successful candidate will join the existing team of 13 consultants (11.3 WTE) and 5 Advanced Nurse Practitioners in providing in‑ and out‑patient respiratory care. This 10 PA post allows suitable candidates the opportunity to train or participate in specialty clinical activity across MFT. We are expanding our research activity and the successful candidate will be encouraged to take an active research interest. Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration – MFT cannot support GMC sponsorship for candidates who are offered permanent vacancies.

  • Provide clinical leadership for the Medicine Division and supervise junior medical staff and multi‑professional trainees as required.
  • Contribute to education and work toward accreditation as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor.
  • Contribute to departmental audit and clinical governance.
  • Provide cross‑cover for annual/study leave and short‑term sickness for other consultants in the department as agreed within the teams.
  • Perform any other duties that are considered necessary for the efficient working of the service and which are mutually agreed to be relevant to the post as the pattern of service evolves.
  • Participate in administrative and management roles of the department in conjunction with other consultants.
