Overview

Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine for Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Trust. Flexible shifts with a focus on diagnostic reasoning and acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Provides clinical and educational support for junior doctors and trainees.

Location: Diana Princess Of Wales Hospital. Shifts: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday. Rates: £100 - £130 per hour (PAYE).

Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Actively support patients and families, communicating clinical information to explain diagnosis and treatment options
• Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various treatments
• Provide constant monitoring and care for patients
• Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team on shared decision making
• Work in and, where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team
• Assess and prioritise patient requirements, delegating effectively
• Recognise, review, and report changes in a patient’s condition to the team
• Perform administrative tasks such as keeping test results, writing prescriptions, and monitoring treatment plans
• Conduct research to develop and test techniques and equipment
• Support teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, and other team members

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

• GM C registered Doctor (not required to be on the Specialist Register)
• Experience at Consultant level or references supporting transition to Consultant level
• Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship for locum roles)
• Enhanced DBS check
