Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in General Radiology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Radiology department.

Our client strives to deliver the highest quality and safest care for more than a quarter of a million people. They aim to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time – whether in hospital or community settings across Suffolk. Their achievements include:

  • Top hospital in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for meeting best practice criteria for hip fracture patients (NHFD)
  • Among the top 10 hospitals in the country for hip, knee, and joint replacement outcomes
  • High ratings in the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) for stroke services
  • Consistently high early detection of cancer and excellent cancer survival rates in the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group area

The successful appointee will join 14 Consultant Radiologists to provide comprehensive radiology services, including general radiology such as CT, MR, ultrasound, and plain film reporting. The role prefers a General Cross-sectional Radiologist with a specialist interest in Head and Neck, Uro-radiology, or Interventional Radiology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clinical duties across various imaging modalities
  • Teaching and training Radiology SpRs, Radiographers, Medical Students, SAS doctors, and other staff
  • Participation in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit

Our client offers a friendly, well-supported team environment, with the flexibility of full-time or part-time working, 10 P.A.s, and excellent transport links to Birmingham, London, and two international airports. Requirements include GMC registration.
