A leading healthcare provider in Leeds is seeking a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics with special interests in Paediatric Orthopaedics. The role involves delivering care for paediatric trauma patients, contributing to clinical research, and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Ideal candidates should have substantial training, strong management skills, and must be GMC registered. Flexible working arrangements available.

This post will support the Paediatric Orthopaedics team(Miss Laura Deriu, Mr Patrick Foster, Mr Colin Holton, Mr John Davies, MissAdelle Fishlock, Miss Elaine Robinson).
This post will deliver care to patients with PaediatricTrauma and Orthopaedic conditions at the Leeds General Infirmary:
Acutecare of paediatric patients
Electiveoperating with pre-operative and post-operative ward rounds
Contributeto Specialist Multi-Disciplinary team meetings
Tocontribute to the role of Leeds as a Training Centre for National Trainees inPaediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Toprovide support and clinical expertise to the teams based in referring centres.
INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD: Tuesday 30September 2025
Thesuccessful applicant should possess the Trauma andOrthopaedic surgery (FRCS Orth) with the Royal College of Surgeons orequivalent and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 monthsof CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programmewithin the UK. In accordance with the consultantappointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on theSpecialist Register.
Applicants should haveestablished skills in PaediatricOrthopaedics.A strongcommitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interestis desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicantswho wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

In relation to this post,the post holder will provide support tothe Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedics team.It will therefore ensure the service is able to continue in its pursuitto provide the best levels of care for patients accessing the service on both atrauma and elective basis.
2.OBJECTIVESOF THE POST
This is a 10 PA substantive appointment for aConsultant Trauma and Orthopaedics surgeon, with special interests in PaediatricOrthopaedics.
This post will deliver 10PAs supporting the PaediatricOrthopaedics team (Miss Laura Deriu, Mr Patrick Foster, Mr Colin Holton, MrJohn Davies, Miss Adelle Fishlock, Miss Elaine Robinson).
To deliver care to patients with PaediatricTrauma and Orthopaedic conditions at the Leeds General Infirmary.
Acute care of paediatricpatients
Elective operating withpre-operative and post-operative ward rounds
Supervision of patients
Contribute to SpecialistMulti-Disciplinary team meetings
To contribute to the role ofLeeds as a Training Centre for National Trainees in Paediatric Trauma andOrthopaedic Surgery.
To provide support andclinical expertise to the teams based in referring centres.
To link with Consultant colleagues in other relevantspecialist teams within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and across the region.
To contribute to research, teaching and newdevelopments within the Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic service. The post holder will be encouraged tofacilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programmes on goingin the department.
There is no requirement for the post holder tosupervise Allied Health Professionals.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
