Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive full-time consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology. The role includes running endocrine clinics, on-call duties, and contributing to general endocrinology and subspecialty work.
You will participate in teaching, supervise junior staff, and develop research interests. The post supports academic activity, with opportunities for service development and audits, aligned with NHS priorities and patient care excellence.
We are seeking applicants for a full-time substantive (8PA) post in Paediatric Endocrinology at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. The successful applicant will be expected to support general endocrinology and sub-specialty work along with endocrine consultant on-call.
The post will be based within the Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
The job plan will include at least 3 paediatric Endocrine clinics per week. There will be on-call commitment.
Accountability - The post holder will report through the Clinical Lead to the Divisional Director of Medicine and to the Chief Executive with professional support from the Medical Director.
Participate in the teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates.
Develop research interests in their area of interest and expertise
Supervise junior staff.
Participate in departmental meetings related to strategic planning.
Take an active role in service review and development
Participate in CPD activity for which financial support is available
Initiate and undertake appropriate audits as required within the department.

The job plan for the first three months will be based on a provisional/indicative timetable. A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the Clinical Director within three months of the commencement date of the appointee.
