A leading healthcare organization is seeking a part-time Consultant in Paediatric Dermatology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This role involves providing clinical care, participating in governance, and mentoring staff. Candidates must have a strong background in paediatric dermatology and relevant qualifications. This is a part-time (0.2 wte) substantive consultant post in the department of paediatric dermatology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The post consists of 2 programmed activities per week: 1.5 PA of direct clinical care and 0.5 PA of supporting professional activities. There are currently no out‑of‑hours on‑call duties.
Responsibilities include general paediatric dermatology and specialist tertiary paediatric dermatology clinics, providing inpatient and outpatient services. General clinics see 8 follow‑up patients or 4 new and 4 follow‑up patients per session. On‑call support will be provided during the day for one day per week with time off in lieu where appropriate. The appointee will also participate in clinical governance, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and current research within the department. Mentoring for newly appointed consultants is provided by the Children’s Hospital.
