Job description
Job Overview

The post holder would work 1.8 PA's within the Paediatric Dental Department of the Eastman Dental Hospital (part of RNENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust). Duties will include diagnosis and treatment planning, treatment under general anaesthetic and sedation, supervision of trainees and post graduate students and involvement in multidisciplinary clinics which may include hypodontia, ortho‑paeds, anomalies and oral medicine. There may also be an expectation to be involved with assisting in remote advice clinics.

The post-holder will be expected to show drive and initiative towards patient care, putting the patient first in line with the Trust core values. As the post-holder will be an integral part of the departmental team, the ability to lead and work as a team member will be essential. Mandatory training in line with requirements of the Division and Trust must be adhered to. The Trust operates an electronic computerised records system, facilitating remote access to records, high quality patient care and innovative service delivery. The post-holder will need good IT and communication skills as well as a desire to evolve the service, enhancing patient care through excellence in education and training.

Position Details

An opportunity has arisen within the Royal National Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital & Eastman Dental Hospital for a 1.8 PA (0.18 WTE) Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of an established team with an international reputation within the speciality of paediatric dentistry. The post is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals in London, part of the Specialist Hospitals Board of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Successful applicants will join consultant colleagues as part of a wider established team providing a full range of paediatric dental services, postgraduate training and research. Applicants will be expected to have excellent communication skills, a high level of clinical experience and knowledge of paediatric dentistry and enthusiasm for postgraduate teaching and training. Candidates need to be on the Specialist Register of the General Dental Council for Paediatric Dentistry.
