The successful candidate will provide high-quality care, support outpatient clinics and day case surgery, focusing on General Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in Medical Retina and Uveitis. Job summary
The Ophthalmology team is based at our new Eye Centre at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and provide specialist care and investigations with services also delivered via our Dewsbury, Pontefract sites and CDC site.

Main duties of the jobSupporting the provision of General Ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in Medical Retina and Uveitis
Delivery of outpatient clinics and day case surgery. The workload is in Clinic see about 12 to 14 patients per clinic, Virtual clinic 24 patients per clinic and Theatre 7 cases.
Urgent and Emergency Care duties including out-of-hours on-call; schedules will take due account of the provisions of working time regulations and safe working
On-call duties are currently shared with 8 other colleagues on a 1:8.5 Rota, currently assessed as 0.89 PA.
1.5 Core Supporting Professional Activities will be offered to the successful candidate for which appropriate objectives will be agreed in accordance with the Trust Framework and national Terms and Conditions of Service with additional 0.5 PA for extra roles like Lead for service etc.
Examples may include formal teaching responsibilities or departmental leadership roles like Research lead
