An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our esteemed NHS client’s dynamic team in Kettering, Northamptonshire. This locum position is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract, offering competitive rates.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will deliver high-quality psychiatric care to older adults, conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing and managing organic and functional mental health problems. You will provide clinical leadership within the community mental health team, ensuring adherence to relevant Trust policies and processes. Your responsibilities will include managing complex cases, offering specialist advice, conducting ward rounds and managing ward jobs, reviewing patient cases and providing feedback, attending relevant patient meetings, and participating in clinical audits and research activities. Additionally, you will develop and implement treatment plans, coordinate with other healthcare professionals, and ensure continuity of care for patients transitioning between services. You will also support crisis referrals and assessments.
