Position Overview: We seek an experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Holyhead, Anglesey. You will provide clinical leadership and expertise in old age mental health, supporting comprehensive psychiatric services for older adults in the community. This is an immediate-start, full-time role (40 hours/week) for 3 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing psychiatric assessment and diagnosis for older adults with conditions such as dementia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis.
• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
• Participating in team meetings, case reviews, and care plan development.
• Educating patients and families about mental health conditions and management strategies.
• Collaborating with external agencies to facilitate integrated care.
• Engaging in quality improvement, audits, and research activities.

Requirements:

• Medical degree and specialist training in old age psychiatry, GMC registration, and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
• Significant post-qualification experience in old age mental health services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commitment to person-centered and recovery-oriented care.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties and training.
• Section 12 Approved Clinician.
