Triple West Medical have been appointed by an NHS organisation based in Northern Scotland to help recruit an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for a substantive position, but will also consider a Locum Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months min.
The Trust provides a full range of general acute hospital services for people living in and around the local region. With over 7,500 staff, they provide high quality care to over 300,000 local people. They operate via multiple sites and pride themselves on high quality patient care.
The Post holder will join an existing team of over 10 Consultants with the department and provide, to a high standard, the full range of specialist diagnostic and treatment services to patients requiring obstetric services, as outlined in the proposed programme. This includes management of obstetric patients at consultant level, i.e. labour ward management and decision making regarding high risk obstetric patients.
There is an Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and an Obstetric Day Unit. Specialist clinics include a joint diabetic antenatal clinic, maternal medicine clinic, foetal medicine clinic, fast-track gynaecology clinic, Colposcopy clinic, unintended pregnancy clinic, and an outpatient hysteroscopy service. The hospital is a Gynaecology-oncology cancer unit and part of a Cancer Network with close links to the Gynae-oncology Cancer Centre at a nearby large hospital.
There are approximately 2,200 deliveries per year, and a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological services is provided. There are currently 27 Obstetric beds (four High Dependency) twelve Gynaecology/Breast surgery beds and a SCBU wing attached to the main hospital. Labour Ward comprises six rooms and a dedicated obstetric theatre. There are Gynaecology day case beds available in a separate unit.
Our NHS Client is happy to issue Certificate of Sponsorships to suitably qualified overseas doctors. GMC registration and relevant NHS / UK experience is essential for this position.
