Job Description:

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Histopathology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful A&E department.

The appointee will be joining our client, England's largest NHS Trust with a turnover of £1.8bn, which is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. They are creating an integrated health and social care system for 1 million patients annually. They are also a major academic research centre and education provider in England, with a focus on high-quality research programs. Additionally, they are committed to sustainability through their Green Plan, addressing climate change in healthcare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing sub-specialised histopathology and cytopathology services (as required), reviewing histopathology and cytopathology cases, participating in cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs), and ensuring service quality in line with UKAS standards (ISO 15189). Areas of primary need include breast, urological, gastrointestinal, and skin pathology. The appointee will participate in relevant External Quality Assurance (EQA) schemes, contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Clinical Audit, and other quality initiatives.
