Job summary
We are seeking versatile, enthusiastic individuals to join our Consultant team in General Adult Psychiatry to support our ongoing improvement and transformation initiatives.
This is a fantastic opportunity for forward-thinking, dynamic change agents who can provide first-class clinical leadership and care across all Mental Health Specialties. You will support our transformation journey by introducing innovative approaches to service delivery.
You must be registered with a GMC license to practice, hold a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, MRCPsych, or an equivalent qualification. All applicants must have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status at the time of appointment.
We are open to discussing your career aspirations and may offer blended job plans, opportunities as a Specialty Lead, involvement in education, training, or research, as well as flexible working arrangements or a traditional 10-session role, depending on your preferences.

Main duties include providing clinical care, RC responsibility, and treatment for up to 12 patients per WTE at Parklands Hospital, Basingstoke, across two newly refurbished single-sex acute wards (Cherry ward - female, Juniper ward - male). The role offers a favorable ratio of medical time per patient, with support from middle-grade and resident doctors at various levels.
This position is available as a full-time or part-time role on either ward, working alongside substantive colleagues.
