An established NHS Trust in North West England is seeking a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join their dynamic team. Job description

Consultant in Emergency Medicine - PERM - North West England

Triple West Medical are currently seeking an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine for a substantive role, but may also consider a FTC Locum Consultant for 12 months min.

The Trust has over 6000 staff offering a comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites. You will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to lead on the shop floor. You will be expected to be active in the teaching and supervision of all multi-disciplinary staff.

The NHS Trust wishes to continue to build its reputation as well as advancing standards of clinical care that are at the cutting edge of their specialty. They are looking for applicants who will contribute towards this and who will help to drive the development of modern emergency care in the local health community.

The Emergency Department at the main site currently sees in excess of 44,000 attendances per year and has a fully accredited Trauma Unit. The second site has around 35,000 attendances per year.

The job will have variety and challenge delivering care between our two hospital sites. You will find a great balance of a busy extended Trauma Unit seeing a case mix of complex major trauma being distant from our Regional Major Trauma Centre and you will also work in a rural setting with the ability to develop extended clinical skills and lead an established composite workforce.

The post holder must have:

  1. Completed Higher Specialist Training in Emergency Medicine or evidence of equivalent competency
  2. MRCP (UK or equivalent)
  3. Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following:
    • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
    • Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  4. Full GMC Registration
  5. Provider status at ALS, ATLS and either PALS or APLS

Our Client is happy to issue Certificate of Sponsorships to suitably qualified overseas doctors. GMC registration and relevant experience are essential for this position.
