This is an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Medicine Consultant to join the Emergency Unit at Glangwili General Hospital in a modern, purpose-built unit able to accept all emergency admissions. The hospital is a busy acute hospital and the local Trauma Unit for the Health Board, working closely with other consultant physicians and surgeons in the hospital and the community.
The department handles all medical and surgical emergencies, with specialty support available such as Trauma, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, and Ophthalmology. The hospital is supported by a large modern Adult Critical Care Unit and a Stroke unit with dedicated stroke teams.

The appointment is offered on a permanent basis, primarily at Glangwili General Hospital, with potential for off-site work as part of your job plan, subject to change based on the Health Board's needs.
*Candidates are encouraged to do locum shifts within the department as a trial before applying.
Main duties of the job
Provide emergency medicine services in collaboration with consultant colleagues, supporting the development of subspecialty interests, and responsible for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses.
Work closely with clinical, medical, and managerial colleagues to deliver high-quality healthcare.
