The St John's Institute of Dermatology is seeking a new part-time (9 PAs) Consultant in Dermatology to join dynamic enthusiastic teams embedded within the forward-thinking Institute. The Institute is involved in many exciting initiatives and is looking for an individual with the appropriate skills to complement our team and to help keep our service at the forefront of clinical and academic excellence. The Institute offers a wide range of services to diverse patient populations with skin conditions. The post-holder will undertake general outpatient sessions along with supporting well-established multi-disciplinary specialist clinics. The post-holder will support wider activities across the Institute, including service development, research and education.

The post-holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director of Specialist Ambulatory Medical Services (SAMS), and responsible to the dermatology Service Leads, Clinical Lead for general dermatology, Clinical Lead for medical dermatology and Team Lead for the Severe Hidradenitis Service.
Job Summary:
To work in and support the Severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa Service.
To work in and support the Tertiary General Dermatology Service.
To work in and support general adult dermatology services.
To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.

We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.
Duties and responsibilities:
Clinical roles:
The postholder will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of dermatology services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include:
Severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa Services (including clinic, MDT, advice and guidance, research and teaching)
Tertiary general Dermatology Services (including clinic, MDT, advice and guidance, research and teaching)
Inpatient medical dermatology services
Take part in Dermatology Consultant on call rota
Advise on the diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospitals, health centres or clinics or other premises as required.
Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff.

Provide High Quality Care to Patients
The post holder must be medically qualified and maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a licence to practice
To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.

To ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care and to respond to their views.
