A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant in Community Paediatrics. This role involves managing complex cases, leading clinical transformations, and working closely with acute units. The ideal candidate will hold an MB BS or equivalent qualification and be registered with the GMC. This post is a newly created role as a Consultant in Community Paediatrics, with a special interest in complex care. Manging complex paediatric cases and developing a model to work more closely with acute units in the management of complex cases.
The Trust provides community physical health services to children and young people in Coventry. The children's physical health services rest within a newly formed Children's Directorate which includes children's community physical health services, CAMHS and CAMHS learning disability services. Children's services and the Community Paediatric service work closely with other providers and agencies across Coventry and Warwickshire to provide health care that works as seamlessly as possible for children and young people.
The Community paediatric service provision varies according to school holiday and MDT commitments on approximately a 4-week cycle. Every consultant contributes to the Non accidental injury (NIA) on-call rota/service week providing 5 days to this approximately once every 5 weeks.
This role includes the management of complex cases and has scope to develop a special interest in developing a model to work more closely with acute units in the management of complex cases.
The role includes general community paediatrics outpatient clinics, child developmental assessment including assessment for neurodevelopmental conditions and health promotion.
The post holder is responsible for Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness which includes the liaison with statutory authorities regarding SEND, CIC, child protection and child death in accordance with holistic care and best practice.
The post holder will join the consultant team in the leadership of the directorate in the delivery of clinical care of children and be an active part in the ongoing service transformation which will include the development of new integrated clinical pathways.
The post holder will have a role within the team for assessment of referrals, with attendance at triage meetings and or individual triage.
