A regional healthcare provider in Coventry seeks a Consultant in Community Paediatrics to manage complex cases and contribute to service transformation. Responsibilities include outpatient clinics, clinical care, and collaborating on integrated pathways. Ideal candidates will have GMC registration and relevant paediatric qualifications.
Consultant in Community Paediatrics at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, with a special interest in complex care. Managing complex paediatric cases and developing a model to work more closely with acute units in the management of complex cases.
The Community paediatric service provision varies according to school holiday and MDT commitments on approximately a 4-week cycle. Every consultant contributes to the Non-accidental Injury (NIA) on-call rota/service week, providing 5 days to this approximately once every 5 weeks.
This role includes the management of complex cases and has scope to develop a special interest in developing a model to work more closely with acute units in the management of complex cases.
The role includes general community paediatrics outpatient clinics, child developmental assessment including assessment for neurodevelopmental conditions and health promotion.
The post holder is responsible for care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness which includes liaison with statutory authorities regarding SEND, CIC, child protection and child death in accordance with holistic care and best practice.
The post holder will join the consultant team in the leadership of the directorate in the delivery of clinical care of children and be an active part in the ongoing service transformation which will include the development of new integrated clinical pathways.
The post holder will have a role within the team for assessment of referrals, with attendance at triage meetings and/or individual triage.
