Consultant in Community Elderly Care Medicine

It is no secret that we have an outstanding rating from the CQC, our staff survey results are among the best in the country, and we are leaders in digital maturity with a mature Quality Improvement approach to innovation and development.

What else can we offer you? Besides all of this, you will have the chance to pursue your own interests, whether in R&D, QI, or management & leadership, and we will support you.

In 2021, Berkshire Healthcare was 4th out of 48 community and mental health trusts for the number of research projects recruited. We have refreshed our research strategy and are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to develop and implement our research programme.

Our QI activities are very active, including opportunities to gain fully accredited QI qualifications.

If you wish to play a pivotal role in leading and developing the service, opportunities are available. Alternatively, if you wish to develop in this area, we are happy to support and nurture your talent for future roles.

About us

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) was formed in April 2001 and became a licensed Foundation Trust in May 2007. In April 2011, the community services of NHS Berkshire East and NHS Berkshire West PCTs merged with the Trust.

The main centres are Reading in the West and Slough in the East, with significant populations in Newbury, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Windsor, and Ascot, forming a conurbation along the M4 corridor.

Berkshire features both affluent and deprived areas, and the Trust is part of two ICSs (Frimley ICS and Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire West ICS), partnering with six local authorities.

The Trust has an outstanding CQC rating and employs over 4,000 staff across more than 100 sites.

Our mission is to maximise independence and quality of life, with a vision to be the best place to give and receive care.
