An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry specialising in eating disorders to join our dynamic NHS team in Dundee, Angus. This position is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract, offering competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide high-quality psychiatric services to children and adolescents, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of eating disorders. You will develop and implement individualised care plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, managing complex cases, providing specialist advice, and engaging in service evaluation, audit, and research to enhance the quality of care provided. You will also be responsible for liaising with external professionals and carers, preparing written and oral evidence for hearings, and ensuring effective handover to colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry, particularly with eating disorders.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in service evaluation and research is desirable.
