The post holders will provide consultant psychiatric input into the development and provision of the 0-25 Bee U Emotional Health and Well Being Service. The service consists of Core CAMHS, a 24/7 Crisis team, Learning Disabilities, Learning Disabilities Intensive Support Team, Children's Eating Disorder, a Single Point of Access for CYPs, a integrated Neurodevelopmental Service and Mental Health Support Teams in Schools. This post will form part of the Core CAMHS teams.
The posts will involve regular specialist outpatient clinics for children and young people with mental health difficulties at Telford & Wrekin or Shropshire bases.
The postholder must be eligible to be included on the specialist register as a CAMHS psychiatrist. Whilst this post also involves management of young adults, it is the CAMHS skills and expertise which will be vital to ensuring the quality and safety of the service .
The new appointees will have leadership roles in the new CAMHS service along with the opportunity for developing a special interest.
The consultant will be responsible for the assessment of patients and their families, and the formulation of evidence based care plans which may or may not be deliverable by the current service.
The post holder will have expertise in the management of severe and enduring mental illnesses. If the post holder lacks sufficient experience in this area we will look at what training needs are required to support the post holder to gain that knowledge and expertise as well as providing support through supervision.

To provide second opinions for members of the multidisciplinary CAMHS team as appropriate and take a clinical lead in the development of the CAMHS service, including continuous improvement of service processes and pathways along with CAMHS Consultant colleagues
To support other staff through complex cases when necessary.
To liaise with schools, social services and other external agencies when it is in the interests of patients and families, and with their consent
To work within the guidelines of Child Safeguarding arrangements for Telford & Shropshire County.
To liaise with Tier 4 services when necessary, and attend CPA meetings for admitted patients.
