The hospital is part of a trust with 5 site bases, with intensive care departments on 2 of its larger sites and theatres on 3 of the 5 sites. You will predominantly be based at Furness General Hospital, covering general anaesthetic services. You will join a department of 8 Consultants, with several Specialists, Specialty Doctors, and ACCPs. Depending on your clinical skills, the successful candidate could have the opportunity to work in main theatres covering maternity, gynaecology, orthopaedics, trauma, ophthalmology, and ENT, while also attending Westmorland General Hospital, which focuses primarily on elective surgery.
Furness General Hospital is a friendly district hospital located in South Cumbria, close to the Lake District. Westmorland General Hospital is situated on the outskirts of Kendal, a popular Lakeland town. All hospitals are in areas of outstanding natural beauty, offering superb outdoor and recreational activities near the Lake District. Good transport links provide easy access to many northern cities with a variety of shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries.
