Job Description:

Working as part of a skillful multi-discipline team, Head Medical are seeking a Consultant Anaesthesia (General) to work for a leading private hospital in the UK.

Based in Emerson Green, on the outskirts of Bristol, you will work as part of this professional, friendly, and compassionate team. This organisation focuses on ensuring that patients receive high-quality treatment quickly in clean and comfortable surroundings.

Emersons Green is a suburban neighbourhood in South Gloucestershire, England. It is part of the Bristol Built-up Area, 7 miles northeast of Bristol city centre. Emersons Green has a quiet, relaxed feel, with landscaped streets, mature trees, and modern sculptures. Local shops and cafes offer convenience, with additional options in nearby areas like Downend, Kingswood, and Mangotsfield.

In this role, you'll be responsible for anaesthetising patients for procedures ranging from ophthalmology to orthopaedics, gynaecology, and general surgery. You will also participate in departmental administration, management, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

This position is primarily elective, except for postoperative cases requiring return to theatre. You will attend outpatient clinics on a rota basis for pre-assessment of patients prior to surgery.

Applicants should have completed a substantial number of procedures independently, possess an excellent clinical record, and demonstrate efficiency in theatre.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of an innovative healthcare company, with responsibilities spanning clinical practice, teaching, and staff development.

A typical job plan includes 40 hours of clinical activity per week, with occasional Saturday work, and flexible scheduling. Five hours of SPA time are allocated weekly, with flexibility to accommodate staff leave, with rotas planned in advance.

What's on offer?

  • Salary up to £140,000 per annum + generous relocation package
  • Access to extensive training courses
  • Private health insurance
  • Four 10-hour days (additional PAs available)
  • 10 days of study leave
  • Career development opportunities
  • Wellbeing and lifestyle benefits
  • Flexible shifts to accommodate other commitments
  • Support for professional growth
  • Work in a modern, clean hospital environment

The Hospital

  • Medium-sized hospital with three operating theatres, a day surgery theatre, endoscopy suite, diagnostic imaging, and physiotherapy departments.
  • 25 inpatient beds
  • Outpatient services across various specialties including ENT, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and pain management.

Requirements to apply?
