A leading NHS Trust in England is seeking a Consultant in Anaesthesia to join their team at Ashford Hospital. This role involves professional clinical services and management within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality care. Ideal candidates must have GMC Registration and a CCT in Anaesthesia. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we develop our elective site at Ashford Hospital, aiming to create a state-of-the-art centre of excellence for planned surgical procedures. We are looking for a Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our team of over 40 consultants and 12 specialty doctors in a friendly and flexible department. There is an on-call commitment with a 3% supplement; each session equals 1.25 PAs. The job plan is across St Peter's Hospital and Ashford Hospital cross sites.

The department includes a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, management and support staff, supported by Staff grades, Associate Specialists, Middle Grade Fellows and Trainee Anaesthetists. The main duties for this role include:
Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people in North-West Surrey, parts of Hounslow and beyond. The workforce includes over 3,700 staff across two hospital sites (Ashford, Surrey and St Peter’s, Chertsey, Surrey). The Trust runs specialist clinics in the community and is expanding theatres at Ashford Hospital to become the dedicated elective centre for planned procedures.

The postholder will contribute to the development of the clinical leadership team and provide comprehensive senior clinical cover to the department. Responsibilities include pre-operative assessment, consultant-delivered perioperative care, involvement in local and national audits (including NELA), support for the Resuscitation Department and Cardiac Catheterisation Lab, and flexible work arrangements as negotiated.
