Are you an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for improving the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents? Pulse Mental Health, a leading recruitment agency specializing in mental health services, is seeking a dedicated Consultant in Adult Psychiatry with expertise in CAMHS to join our team in Milton Keynes.

Position Overview: As a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry specializing in CAMHS, you will lead and oversee the provision of high-quality mental health services to children and adolescents within the Milton Keynes area. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions, providing expert clinical guidance and support to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health disorders.
  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic approaches.
  • Offer consultation and support to other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and clinical reviews to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Trainees.
  • Collaborate with community resources, educational institutions, and external agencies to promote mental health awareness and support early intervention initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of specialty training in Psychiatry and certification as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Subspecialty training or equivalent experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAMHS).
  • Demonstrated experience working in CAMHS settings, with a strong understanding of developmental psychopathology and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
