Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to work full-time hours for our NHS client in Leeds, Yorkshire. This is a short-term locum position available immediately.

Responsibilities

1. Lead psychiatric assessments for patients admitted to the CAU and detained under Section 136.
2. Provide senior clinical leadership and input within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), ensuring effective care planning.
3. Coordinate with CRISS teams, inpatient services, and community partners for smooth transitions.
4. Apply the Mental Health Act (MHA) as required.
5. Prescribe medication using the Trust’s electronic prescribing system.

Note: Routine community-based crisis assessments are generally conducted by CRISS locality teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full GMC licence to practice
• Section 12 approval
• Approved Clinician status
• Experience in a similar role
