Job Title:Consultant in Adult Psychiatry
Grade:Consultant
Location:Crediton, Devon
Working Hours:40 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedConsultant in Adult Psychiatryto join our NHS client in Crediton, Devon. This full-time role offers the opportunity to provide expert psychiatric care within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment, serving adults with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and psychiatric care for adults with a range of mental health conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, psychology, social care, and primary care professionals.
  • Participate in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff and trainees.
  • Engage with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic, person-centred care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in adult psychiatry and multidisciplinary team working
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
