Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our team in Liverpool. This full-time role offers an initial contract of 6 months, providing an exciting opportunity for a compassionate psychiatrist to lead and contribute to high-quality mental health services for adults in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, overseeing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with mental health disorders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate interventions.
  • Support primary care providers, community mental health teams, and other stakeholders involved in adult mental health care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including trainees and students.
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement, and research initiatives to enhance mental health services.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or eligibility).
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
  • Significant experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in adult mental health services.
  • Expertise in managing mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and clinical governance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
