Jobbeschreibung

Clinical Duties It is expected that the post holder will provide full general and specialised surgical services including both elective and emergency surgery, based at the North Hampshire Hospital, but working across three sites as required. It is expected that the post holder will be an active member of the local MDTs. The job involves a commitment to the general surgery on-call rota and the specialist Hepatobiliary rota. During time on call for general surgery, the consultant will not be expected to undertake elective surgery commitments. The successful candidate will contribute to the Surgical Department and the Trust as a whole, working as part of a team to shape the future of the service. This includes working flexibly to ensure that the hampshirehospitalscareers.co.uk Hepatobiliary Service commitments of operating lists, inpatient and outpatient care is covered by a consultant at all times. This will include cover for annual and study leave and emergency on call cover. The post is for an initial 12 months locum. Administrative Duties The post-holder will be required to undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients. Audit There is a regular weekly morbidity and mortality meeting at Basingstoke which the post holder will be expected to attend and present at in rotation. The Trust expects CPD requirements to be met. Outpatients In addition to the main outpatient clinics at Basingstoke, peripheral clinics run at Andover. Teaching The departments take undergraduate students. There is a requirement for the post holder to be involved in teaching and training for undergraduate and postgraduates. Clinical Governance The post-holder will participate in clinical governance and audit.
