Consultant Haematologist with an interest in Myeloma

Swansea University Health Board is seeking to appoint to a replacement 10 session Consultant Haematologist post in Myeloma who has a commitment to collaborative multidisciplinary working to achieve high quality patient care through implementing innovative service models to support delivery of performance targets whilst also safeguarding excellence in education/training and an appreciation of the need for and value of, high quality research.

Main duties of the job

Deliver comprehensive systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) for patients with myeloma and related haematological malignancies. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including the Skin MDT and Lymphoma MDT, to coordinate patient care. Provide expert input into diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for complex cases, including relapsed/refractory myeloma, plasma cytomas, and MGUS. Expand and manage a clinical trials portfolio in myeloma and related cancers, building on the department's strong research culture

Qualifications

  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a clinical Haematologist or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview and have passed exit exam or a statement of eligibility for registration issued by PMETB or a primary medical qualification and recognized specialist qualification from a European Member State which will allow direct entry to the GMC Specialist Register Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
