A prominent healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Consultant to assist in running the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Liverpool. The role involves providing acute gynaecological care and contributing to IVF and reproductive medicine services. The successful candidate must have specialist GMC registration and experience in the NHS. Additionally, they will be involved in mentorship and research activities.
Job summary
We are looking to appoint a motivated Consultant who can assist in the running of the Hewitt Fertility Centre (HFC). This is a whole time substantive post in gynaecology and fertility, based at Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with sessions at Hewitt Fertility Centre, Knutsford. The post is designed to strengthen the existing team of Consultants who provide acute and general gynaecological care to the women of Liverpool and the surrounding areas of Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.
The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible with their weekly timetable as service need dictates. The job plan will be tailored to the skill set of the successful applicant.
Skills in laparoscopic surgery, ambulatory procedures and hysteroscopic surgery would be an advantage.
There will be requirement to work the weekend rota and consultant on-call rota.
The post is advertised as a 10 PA job plan, however, the job plan is flexible, subject to the development of the service, and the particular interests of the successful candidate. This may include special interest PAs or departmental leadership roles.

The post will be part of the reproductive medicine team and will have DCC programmed activities in General Gynaecology which will include ambulatory and gynaecology theatre as well as contribution to the gynaecology on-call rota.
In line with all Consultants in the Trust, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to:
Mentorship from senior Consultant colleagues will be provided.
Participation in a continuous training and education programme for all clinical staff is a requirement of the post. Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training would also be expected. The post holder will be expected to have the minimum requirements for level 1 educational supervision.
The post holder is expected to take an active role in research within the department.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
