The NHS is seeking a committed Geriatrician to enhance elderly care services in Northampton. This full-time role involves developing innovative pathways for frail patients, engaging in medical education, and collaborating closely with the healthcare team. Ideal candidates will hold necessary qualifications and have a passion for improving services for the elderly.
This is a new full time appointment to join the existing 4 Geriatricians
It is a response to the increasing number of admissions of frail elderly.
The job will be a combination of EAU based geriatric medical care and developing the front end service with help of two specialist nurses and A Geriatric Fellow.
The appointee will develop the pathways in and out of the unit to ensure input for elderly patients as early as possible in their acute illness.
The model links with front end admission avoidance services in the county (CECS) and community services from health and social care.
Special interests in any sub- specialty of Geriatric Medicine would be particularly valued and accommodated to compliment other consultant's interests.
This is an exciting opportunity for the appointee to shape the pathway of services for the elderly in South Northamptonshire.
