Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Consultant Physician in General Medicine with an interest in Rheumatology, based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary with outpatient activity across Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital.

The 12-month fixed-term post provides consultant cover during a period of absence of the substantive post holder, with opportunities to contribute to service development, teaching and research within a large teaching hospital.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of entry to the register at date of interview.
• Experience in General Medicine with interest in Rheumatology or related areas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consultant-led care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Contribute to acute medical receiving and the consultant on-call rota, including weekends.
• Support teaching, quality improvement and service development within Rheumatology and General Medicine.
