The vacancy has arisen because the substantive postholder has resigned from the post. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic consultant psychiatrist to join this dynamic team.

Responsibilities

The postholder will provide medical and clinical leadership to the South West Merton Integrated Recovery Hub (IRH) within Adult Mental Health Services for Merton. The South West Merton IRH (with internal GP alignment) is one of three such teams in the London Borough of Merton, the other being North East Merton IRH. Both IRHs provide treatment and care for those with more complex and enduring needs, alongside a Merton Primary Care Liaison Service which operates as a clearly defined single point of access for all community referrals and a Merton Home Treatment Team. In addition, there are separate community teams for Early Intervention in Psychosis (Sutton and Merton EIS) and a Complex Needs Service for people with Personality Disorder (Sutton and Merton CNS). There is also a Trust run Merton Talking Therapies service comprising of IAPT and wellbeing services for patients with mild/moderate mental health difficulties.

The Trust has an excellent reputation for developing innovative clinical services including the Recovery College and SUN Project. Our Recovery College has been visited by overseas healthcare commissioners, who have gone on to develop similar services abroad in collaboration with our Trust. The Trust is also proud to have developed a range of new, progressive, public facing services including Crisis Cafes and a Mental Health Support Line.
