Job summary

Evolve Staffing Ltd is partnering with a major NHS hospital in Bristol to recruit a Consultant Gastroenterologist. This prominent vacancy requires expertise in luminal gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced endoscopy.

The successful candidate will join a highly integrated gastroenterology department, managing complex gastrointestinal disorders, IBD, and liver disease, ensuring NHS patient care across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration and entry on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).
• MRCP (UK) or equivalent medical qualification.
• Experience and JAG accreditation (or equivalent) in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Lead specialised outpatient clinics focusing on general gastroenterology, IBD, and hepatology.
• Perform routine and complex endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and potentially ERCP, within a JAG-accredited endoscopy unit.
• Conduct acute medical ward rounds, providing senior clinical decision-making for complex gastroenterological admissions.
• Engage actively in clinical audits, research initiatives, and the educational supervision of specialty doctors and junior medical personnel.
