Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our expanding patient-centred and supportive Gastroenterology department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our dedicated team aims to develop the Gastroenterology and Liver service and welcomes like-minded candidates to join us. This is an exciting time following a £4.0 million recurrent investment to support a blended workforce and a £4.5 million capital refurbishment of our Endoscopy unit in 2023/2024. Opportunities include supporting service development and outpatient transformation as we develop sub-specialty services and innovative outpatient pathways.
Our Gastroenterology and Liver service is among the busiest in the UK, offering a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Our recently refurbished JAG-accredited Endoscopy unit performs approximately 15,000 procedures annually, serves as a training centre for the North-West Endoscopy training academy, and manages Bowel cancer screening in Lancashire.
The post holder should have broad Gastroenterology experience, including Endoscopy, contributing to core elective and emergency services, with a specialist interest in ERCP and EUS service development.
