Your Role:As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, youll support our Endoscopy team, offering vital services to NHS patients in Manchester and nearby areas. Perform colonoscopy, gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and lead outpatient clinics.

JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Consultant Gastroenterologist- Colorectal Surgeon
Area of work- BMSG Endoscopy Unit
Job purpose
To provide, in collaboration with clinical colleagues, acomprehensive Gastroenterology service to patients. This will include ensuringthat services are provided in an effective and efficient manner and that theprinciples of clinical governance are maintained at all times.
The post holder will work closely with the Management teamto ensure that relevant clinical audit is carried out, in accordance with JointAdvisory Group (JAG) and British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guidelines.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Clinicaland ancillary team to ensure all requirements are met in accordance with JAGand BSG guidelines.
Scope
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to providethe Gastroenterology service. This may include working with different teams ona regular basis.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
CLINICAL
Demonstrate delivery of high standards of care.
Maintain Joint Advisory Group in GI Endoscopy(JAG) and British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) standards in endoscopicpractice
Undertake Endoscopic procedures and Outpatientclinics (telephone & face to face) as per Commissioned contractualarrangements.
Ensure patient is involved in decision-makingregarding their care.
Respect the privacy and dignity of patients andother staff at all times.
Take ongoing responsibility for leading themanagement of patients under his/her care
Participate in the development of theGastroenterology service, treatment protocols and guidelines and the greaterknowledge in the management of conditions
Develop and maintain collaborative relationshipswith medical colleagues in other specialities and with General Practitionersand medical professionals from acute hospitals.
a firm involvement in clinical governance, riskmanagement and clinical audit, including participation in the development andmaintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continuous and safeclinical practice
Adhere to care pathways across the service

Demonstrate adherence to all BMSG policies andprocedures.
Accurately record relevant information inappropriate format.
Communicate with all members of the clinical andadministrative teams in a professional manner and be able to convey relevantinformation to and receive feedback from same.
