Job overview

You will be based predominantly at the Royal Preston Hospital and facilitate the delivery of high-quality Gastroenterology across both sites at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, with rotating in-reach provision to Chorley General Hospital.Both are currently 1 in 6, but frequency will decrease further with recruitment. You will join of a team of 7 Gastroenterology Consultants and participate in a return to site GI bleeding rota (1 in 7).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

• Provide direct input to patients on the gastroenterology ward (Ward 24) at Royal Preston Hospital, provide support to resident doctors and advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs) covering ward referrals and Gastroenterology in‑reach to the Emergency Department, and provide Gastroenterology in‑reach to Chorley Hospital on a rotational basis
• Participate in specialty multi
