Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will join a team of 11 WTE gastroenterologists fully supported by specialist nurses and advanced diagnostic services. We have an established IBD and nutrition team consisting of specialist nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and administrative support. We are looking for an enthusiastic gastroenterologist to both provide continuity, but also develop these services in a co-lead role. Outpatient gastroenterology is a major focus in the recent NHSE plans for reforming elective care and we want our service to reflect a modern, patient focussed approach. The post holder will participate in a 1 in 11 out of hours GI bleeding on call rota and contribute (on a similar frequency) to the management of general gastroenterology inpatients. The post has no commitment to general internal medicine.
The applicant will have the opportunity to further develop a specialist interest alongside our existing team and we would welcome applicants with an interest in developing the efficiency of the service through, for example, utilising technology.
