Job Description:

The Psychiatry department at a Mental Health Hospital in Leeds is seeking a General Adult Consultant for a long-term community-based role.

  • Position: General Adult Psychiatry, Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
  • Start date: ASAP, initially 3 months with possibility of extension
  • Qualifications: Section 12 & AC status required

This role is to cover a vacancy until a new postholder is recruited, due to the retirement of a substantive Consultant in the North East CMHT in Leeds. Responsibilities include assessing and reviewing patients as part of a multidisciplinary team, supervising SAS doctors, reviewing and prescribing for current caseloads. The role involves Mental Health Act work and requires availability for urgent patient assessments. There are also a small number of patients on CTO to manage.
