South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist for Forensic Psychiatry to lead a new low secure learning disability service at Turner ward, Shaftesbury Clinic. The role offers a permanent contract, a tailored leadership programme and a relocation package up to £8,000.

Formación

• Primary Medical degree.
• Full GMC registration.
• MRCPsych, or equivalent. Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic or Learning Disability Psychiatry or eligible for such inclusion on the Specialist Registrar within three months of completing their CCT.
• Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act.
• Approved Clinician status as well as S12 approval.
• Completed minimum of three years full time training in approved higher psychiatric training scheme.
• Knowledge of main treatment approaches for intellectual disabilities and autism, risk assessment and risk management, interface with the Criminal Justice system and forensic inpatient settings.
• Commitment to developing practice through clinical audit and/or research.
• Experience of teaching medical and non-medical staff, including those who may not have a formal qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Provide medical leadership to the team within Turner LDA ward on a 12-bedded low secure ward.
• Ensure safe, efficient and effective service delivery meeting KPIs and Forensic PC objectives.
• Carry overall responsibility for day-to-day clinical care, risk assessment and rehabilitation.
• Work with ward manager and wider service, with robust support from leadership team.
• Contribute to service planning, development and cross-cover with other consultants.
