Job summary

The Trust is seeking a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to work in the Forensic Service. The post is available due to a consultant psychiatrist leaving the Trust.

This is a full-time 10 PA appointment. The intention is for the postholder to spend approximately 8 PAs working on Hoxton Ward and 2 PAs in Hackney. Those interested in part-time or flexible working should contact us to discuss possible arrangements.

The postholder will join four existing consultants working in the rest of the Low Secure service. The East London area served by the Trust is highly diverse and deprived, presenting significant challenges for health service provision, with high levels of mental health issues, substance misuse, and offending behavior.

Main duties of the job

The Trust seeks a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership at Wolfson House, overseeing multidisciplinary teams on Hoxton Ward and providing community supervision for a small number of discharged patients.

Clinical Duties of the Post Holder

• The postholder will hold consultant responsibility for approximately 10 patients under the Hackney Community Forensic Team and for inpatients on Hoxton Ward.
• Provide clinical leadership to the Hackney Community Forensic Team and Hoxton Ward.
