The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to contribute to improving patient experiences and developing our new care model.

The posts are based at The Edenfield Centre within our male medium secure and women's blended services.

While our new care model is under development and medical job planning is being reviewed, the post holders are expected to be Responsible Clinicians for 12–16 male inpatients or 10–12 female inpatients, managing their caseload from admission to discharge.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. You may work within our women's blended secure service or our male medium secure service. Both roles involve contributing to our new care model and shaping future secure services for both genders in Greater Manchester.

You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team including a medical secretary, junior doctors, clinical psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nursing staff. Physical health support is provided by visiting GPs, dentists, and a dedicated physical health team.

Additional clinical activities include on-call duties, assessments, and other responsibilities negotiated with colleagues and aligned with our new care model.

The Trust requires all post holders needing a DBS to subscribe to the DBS Update Service, with a fee of £16 per year.
