1 year fixed term, full time, 13 Programmed Activities per week including on-call (part time may be considered).

South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Medical team based at Cheswold Park Hospital. This role is part of the male low secure pathway and involves the low secure men’s inpatient service (Esk ward) and low secure ASD in-patient service (Wentbridge). The post holder will be the allocated RC in charge of medical treatment for patients on Wentbridge Ward (male ASD low secure).

The starting salary is aligned with point 04 of the consultant pay scale (£119,490 - £145,478), in line with Trust policy for newly appointed consultants. Placement on the scale will be reviewed where applicable NHS consultant experience can be evidenced.

  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within three months of appointment. (If not achieved at the time of appointment low secure colleague support will be provided as interim measure.)
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.

  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
  • OR Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry with special interest in Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
