A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant ENT Surgeon with a specialist interest in paediatric ENT. The role involves outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and a commitment to clinical governance and education within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must have full GMC Registration and an advanced Paediatric ENT Fellowship, with previous consultant experience preferred.
There will be the opportunity to develop specialist services such as Paediatric Rhinology, Paediatric Allergy and expand multidisciplinary Paediatric otology service in line with the needs of the department. Applicants must have full GMC Registration, FRCS(ORL-HNS) or equivalent. Candidates must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of their CCT at the time of interview. Candidates must have an advanced Paediatric ENT Fellowship at the time of commencement of the post and previous Consultant experience is desirable.

Applicants are invited for a substantive post as a Consultant ENT Surgeon with specialist interest in paediatric ENT (across sites) and will join a UHB ENT team with the highest standards of clinical care. You will act as part of this multidisciplinary team to deliver Paediatric ENT services for patients covered within UHB ENT services, participating in clinics, theatre, MDT and Advice and Review. Duties will include;
* Outpatient clinic sessions across sites
* Theatre sessions, both Paediatric & Adult.
* Ward rounds
* Specialist clinics- Paediatric allergy/rhinology service, SPOC service.
* Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate
* Clinical & Educational Supervisor duties
* Audit
The job plan will include a commitment to clinic, theatre and on call duties. The on-call commitment will be for the BHH admitting site and is currently run as a 1 in 11, supported by a registrar and FY/CT on call. All clinical activities are cancelled when on call. Time will be given for admin and supporting professional activities. The appointee will be expected to attend and contribute to Clinical Governance, teaching and audit within the department. The involvement in continuing medical education is an integral part of the advertised post and as such, you will be required to significantly increase the recruitment to clinical trials and practice evidence-based medicine. Within this role you will be required to participate in all aspects of clinical governance as developed by the Trust to monitor, maintain and develop the quality and effectiveness of care.
