Job summary

Fichtner Consulting Engineers Ltd is seeking a Senior Consultant with a mechanical engineering background and substantial rotating equipment knowledge. The role is based at our Stockport office with some travel in the UK, Ireland and EU, and requires hands-on experience across operation, maintenance, commissioning or construction.

You will lead technical assessments, ensure QA procedures and ITPs are followed, and contribute to energy infrastructure projects with a focus on safety, reliability

Qualifications

• A good degree in Mechanical Engineering (or close equivalent).
• Ideally Chartered Engineer.
• Experience with the selection/sizing of rotating equipment such as fans, pumps, compressors, turbomachinery, generators and their auxiliary systems.
• Experience with QA procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for new or refurbished rotating plant.
• Practical experience gained in operation, maintenance, commissioning or construction roles.
• Experience with rotating plant efficiency, reliability, performance monitoring and failure investigations.
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant standards.
• Awareness of good practices for preservation, planned and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Good understanding of process safety principles.
• Strong analytical and excellent communication skills.
• Full right to work in the UK; willingness to travel.

This position will be based from our Stockport office with some travel in the UK, Ireland, and EU.

We are looking for:
