Penguin Recruitment are seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join their expanding South East team near Eastbourne. The role involves delivering ecological surveys, impact assessments and client liaison to ensure high-quality outcomes across projects.

You will work on Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, protected species surveys and biodiversity net gain assessments, with opportunities for professional development and progression in a supportive, flexible working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology or a related discipline is required.
• Experience carrying out ecological surveys and producing reports.
• Membership or eligibility for CIEEM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and surveys.
• Contribute to biodiversity net gain assessments and habitat management plans.
• Prepare reports and liaise with clients to ensure project delivery.
• Assist in survey work and project coordination.
