Job Purpose

As a Consultant Ecologist, you will conduct ecological surveys, analyze data, and support conservation projects. You will be supported by Junior Ecologists and work closely with senior ecologists to assess habitats, conduct species surveys, and contribute to environmental impact assessments. Your role is crucial in ensuring ecological compliance and promoting biodiversity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ecological surveys, including habitat assessments and protected species surveys.
  • Lead in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the preparation of ecological impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide ecological advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Collaborate with conservation organizations and local authorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to research projects.
Requirements

We are looking for individuals who will thrive at Envance and possess the following attributes:

  • Self-starter, eager to develop professionally and proactively find solutions.
  • Pride in producing high-quality written work.
  • Effective collaborator with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in ecological impact assessment, PEA, BNG, and managing survey programs.
  • Protected species licenses or willingness to obtain them, or expertise in a specific ecological area.
  • Experience or desire to lead survey teams and mentor early-career ecologists.
  • Experience supporting tendering and fee proposal preparation.
  • A relevant degree and professional experience.
  • Membership or willingness to pursue membership of CIEEM.
  • Valid UK driving license.
