A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join their Terrestrial Ecology team. This hybrid role involves managing ecological surveys and projects across South Wales and the Midlands, offering opportunities for professional growth and development. Candidates should have a relevant degree and experience in ecological assessments, with strong report writing and communication skills.
Are you an Ecologist ready to take the next step in your consultancy career? Are you looking for a varied and flexible role in a supportive team where your skills can grow further?
We are seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join our friendly Terrestrial Ecology team in South Wales or the Midlands. This hybrid role involves home, office, and site-based work. Our contracts include ecological surveys across the South Midlands and South Wales regions, from Carmarthenshire through South Wales, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire to Oxfordshire.
In this role, you will supervise terrestrial ecology fieldwork—ranging from Preliminary Ecological Appraisals to protected species surveys—and manage your own projects. Responsibilities include writing ecological reports, liaising with clients, contributing to tenders, and carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties. With APEM's expertise in ecology, hydrology, and water quality, you will be supported in developing a well-rounded and impactful consultancy career.
We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, many of which align with employees' personal interests. We are committed to continuous development and learning to support your career growth. Benefits include private medical insurance, access to mental health first aiders, comprehensive income protection, and flexible working options to balance work and life.
We value diversity and inclusion. If you can't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We are open to supporting your development, whether through part-time work or gaining experience in specific areas. As a growing company, we can adapt roles to fit individual skills.
